duplicates Mac+Serial bug

$

Hello,

Since my upgrade to version 2.8 of OCSNG server I have some computers that are tagged as duplicates in my administrative console only in mac + serial duplicates.

If I check serial only or mac only, I have no duplicates computers.

When I check the duplicates computer in mac + serial, obviously they are no duplicate computers.

In version 2.7 I didn't have this problem. I alreay deleted all the computer in OCS NG and I dropped the database to start on a fresh one but I still have the problem.

My server is a linux one and the false duplicates computers are Windows 10 ones. I only have few linux computers.

Can you tell me if I did anything wrong please?

Thank you.

I got a 2nd error. The 2.7.01 Agents deliver bullshit into the ocs db.

The count of know devices increases, bute the hostnames not shown in the device list.
That can be reproduced with the i-doit system, too.

IP Discover not working

$

Hi, I'm using OCS 2.8 and I'm facing problems with IP Discover feature on Centos 7.

After installing OCS, I've noticed a log error in error_log (apache):

ocsinventory-server: Bad setting. `IPDISCOVER_LINK_TAG_NETWORK` is not set. Default: `0

(Don't know if this is related to IPDiscover problem)

After waiting for 1 day, I've checked IPDiscover page and it not get any subnet from my network, then I've installed manually the ocs agent in my DNS/DHCP server and even so (after waiting 1 more day) it didn't work.

I've tried to run "ipdiscoverutil-pl" and it returned that the IPDiscover didn't find any other addresses in my subnet. Tried a lot of options using ipdiscoverutil and it returned "No unknown hosts of this network. Stop." (Even known hosts don't work).

Figured out that only IPDiscover is not working after try nmap and return all my network devices.

Hi guys,

I have already tested it myself.
It works exactly as requested above.

In fact even the specified parameter is taken and used, even if a TAG has already been assigned in the OCS Windows Package.

This is quite useful. Just as a quick info.

Many greetings

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum. It's nice to be able to tell you about my problem.

We're testing OCS Inventory in our enviroment. We're importing information about 20118 computers and 37920 softwares at the moment. But we're seeing a problem with displaying data about software. We're waiting 5 minutes on results of query "All Software" for 10 entries on a page. When we're changing page or number entries on a page we have to wait next 5 minutes. This problem doesn't exist when we're displaing data about computers.

Is someone had problem like this ?

Best Regards

Richard

Agent is not installed correctly

Good morning.
Although in principle the agent installs it in a Windows 2012R2, that is, it appears as installed inside programs and features. It doesn't appear as a service and of course it doesn't contact the server to make the inventory of the machine.
I have tried to do this on several occasions.
There is no blocking by the Windows firewall and I have other machines also with Windows 2012R2 and in those I have not had problem installing the agent.
The version of the agent I am using is 2.8.0.0

Some idea of what could be happening.
Thank you.

IP Discover: Identified devices

Hi all

how can I make devices visible in the dashboard that are marked as "identified" after IP scan?

I have set a type (printer) and the description but it is only visible in the list Inventory->IP-Discover->Identified.

I also tried to set up an asset category to see it in the bottom of the dashboard but also there it is not visible:

I could not find out the problem reading the wiki. So hopefully you can help me. Thanks and best regards

Christopher

/var/lib/ocsinventory/reports/logs not writable

This problem has been discussed, but not answered some years ago.  Today i ran the update on the ocsreport server and it's now reporting back that /var/lib/ocsinventory-reports/logs is not writable.  SElinux is off, and the route to the directory is all either 777 permissions or owned by www-data:www-data so there's no reason at all for it to not be writable.   Also, to compound the issue, it doesn't seem to matter if I change the log directory to be /var/ocsreports/logs, it still reports back that /var/lib/ocsinventory-reports/logs is not writable.

Generate cacert.pem from Sectigo wildcard cert

OCS Server version : 2.6 and 2.8

OCS Windows agent version : 2.6 and 2.8

How on earth to get cacert.pm from this particular certificate? I successfully added the file in apache setting and no issue to browse ocs https page when valid certificate but no matter which files I tried to use it does not work on Windows agent with following error ;

ERROR *** AGENT => Failed to send Prolog <SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK>

I've literally tried thousands of imaginable way to generate cacert.pem from

apache line SSLCertificateFile \path\to\crt\file

generate cert from mozilla, chrome browser

Sectigo website

None of them seems to work. I've tried self signed cert on another server and it's working flawlessly.

Appreciate if anyone can help. Thanks!!

OCS CVE - Computer still appears

Hello

After the implementation of the CVE function in the OCS server, I have a question

Some computers appear in "alert" in the "CVE computer" tab for different versions. (example with Adobe)

But when I update adobe to the latest version, the computer still looks as if there is a breach and a corresponding CVE.

I would like to know why they still appear and how can I mark them as "safe"?

Thank you very much in advance
